3 Ways to Think Bigger and Aim Higher

One thing that sets apart many successful individuals is their ability to think big and aim high.  If you want to achieve extraordinary results you need to think extraordinary thoughts and take extraordinary action.  The problem is that our natural environment mostly conditions us to be “realistic” or to “play it safe” by thinking small.  This leads to so many people living  small lives, way below their potential.  In order to move beyond the mundane and press into our God-given destinies, we must recondition ourselves to think bigger and aim higher.  Here are 3 ways you can do just that:

Iron Sharpens Iron

There’s a  popular quote that says “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”.  Personal success certainly has a lot to do with the type of people you spend the most time with. The bible tells us that “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens [and influences] another [through discussion].” – Proverbs 27:17 AMP new.   Spending time with people who inspire you will challenge you to think bigger and see that anything is possible.   Pray for God to send people your way who will encourage you to be your best and who you can in turn add value to their lives.

Expand Your Horizons

You can expand your horizons by reading more, working on your gifts, developing yourself and moving beyond your comfort zone.  Expanding your horizons in this way will help to expand your thinking. Your mind will be open up to new ideas and endless possibilities.  “Make your tents large. Spread out! Think big!” – Isaiah 54:2 MSG

Know the Word

It’s easy to settle for less when you don’t know what is available for you.  That’s why it’s important to know what God has given us if you want to actually experience His blessings.  Knowledge of the Word of God will reveal His true character and your true identity as His child.  God’s Word will renew your thinking so that you can know His plan and purpose for you.  He’s placed within you the capacity to think big and do great things, don’t let it go to waste!
