The “I Can Do” Attitude

The journey to success isn’t always smooth.  When obstacles stand in your way do you shrink back or look for a way to overcome them?  Even when God has planned something for you, circumstances can try and throw you off course from your destined path.  How far you will go in life has a lot to do with your attitude when faced with such situations.  It’s a winner’s mindset that will make all the difference.  Zig Ziglar famously said; “your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.”

It could be your business that’s facing trouble, or the dream in your heart that hasn’t yet been realized. When faced with opposing circumstances, you can choose to be like Caleb who said; “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it” (Number 13:30).   Or you can choose to have a negative attitude like the other men who were with him at the time (Numbers 13:31-33).

Having a positive “I can do” attitude is not about having faith in your own strength and abilities alone. Those things are good and you should of course be a good steward of them.  However, your confidence and faith should be in the One Who gives you those abilities, then works with you and through you to fulfill His purpose.   Once you realize this, then no matter what obstacles you face, you can boldly say, “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
